In this class, you'll focus on Tracing, Analysis, and Interpretation, with a strong emphasis on their application in orthodontics. You'll also engage in hands-on cephalometric tracing, applying the techniques directly to enhance your practical skills

Treatment Planning

  • Extraction vs non-extraction
  • Various extraction patterns for different malocclusions
  • Problem oriented approach for orthodontic treatment

In the Treatment Planning section, we'll explore the decision-making process between extraction and non-extraction approaches, review various extraction patterns for different malocclusions, and emphasize a problem-oriented approach to orthodontic treatment. This comprehensive overview will equip you with the confidence to create effective, individualized treatment plans, helping you determine when to extract teeth and when to avoid it. Having the right tools is essential, and not knowing how to use orthodontic instruments can lead to challenging situations. In this class, we will cover everything you need to know about basic orthodontic instruments, ensuring you're well-prepared for your practice.

Brackets

  • Bracket prescriptions (tip and torque values)
  • How to identify brackets

Accurate bracket identification is crucial in orthodontics. The placement of a premolar bracket on an incisor or placing a bracket upside down can significantly impact treatment outcomes, as each bracket has specific tipping and torquing values. In this class, you'll learn all about different types of brackets, their tip and torque values, and how to correctly identify and place them to optimize results.

Banding and Bonding

  • Molar band placement
  • Bracket placement
  • Direct bonding
